New site launched

Official website of the Old Boys’ Association of the Sri Sumangala College, Panadura, Sri Lanka has launched with it’s new design.

This site use cascading style sheets for visual layout. If your browser or browsing device does not support stylesheets at all, the content of each page is still readable.

All pages validate as XHTML 1 Strict. They use structured semantic markup.

All pages comply with priority 1 guidelines of the W3 Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and the Section 508 Guidelines.

Conatct data of the site has formatted using Microformats.

One stop Sri Lankan Search

I did a Sri Lankan Web Search with Google Co-op CSE. This will search only Sri Lankan web contents within a given list of websites. At the moment this will search nearly 50 Sri Lankan website. So let’s grow the list :)

[UPDATE - Wednesday, March 18, 2009] New Sri Lankan Online Community Radio, Sinha FM has been added. It’s on air from Doha, Qatar. Sinha FM is a none profitable on line radio for all our expats working in out side of our mother land..

[UPDATE - Monday, July 2, 2007] I have removed Minsara Online Radio as I found they are using V FM live stream.

[UPDATE] I have re-ordered and index the list by alphabetical order. Hope this will be much more readable than before.

Here I am listing some good Sri Lankan Radio Stations and Music Portals with their online streaming feed. Remember some radio streaming feeds they providing are not valid, so in here I have tried my best to avoid those invalid feeds.

Positions for LAMP Developers

One of my friend’s company looking for some LAMP Developers with following skill sets:

  1. At least 1 year of hands on experience working with PHP5
  2. A good understanding of relation database design theory, MySQL and related technologies.
  3. An excellent understanding of OO concepts – design and coding.
  4. Worked with Smarty (or any other templating library).
  5. A fair understanding of JavaScript, AJAX, XML and general “Web 2.0″ concepts.
  6. Knows how to unit test code. Must be conversant with phpUnit, SimpleTest or a similar testing framework.
  7. Experience in working with ORM libraries like Propel would be a significant advantage
  8. Ability to work with with a Linux OS (command line mode) would be an advantage.

In addition to this, the candidate should of course be a team player, be able to think out of the box, be task oriented and creative. Keep in mind, their working hours are from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

  • Junior Old Boys’ Association of Sri Sumangala College, Panadura will be using the new domain name http://www.SumangalaJuniorOBA.net instead of http://www.SumangalaJOBA.net. Reason to change the domain name was some objections regarding the name SumangalaJOBA, so the executive committee finally decide to go with SumangalaJuniorOBA domain name.

    According to the new domain name, official email address will be info@SumangalaJuniorOBA.net.

    Site with the new domain name will be launch in the Annual Get Together which will going to happen on Sunday, 16th June 2007 at Ranmal Holiday Resport, Gorakana, Moratuwa, with the chief guest Mr. Lalith Kahatapitiya, Chairman / Managing Director of K.I.K. Group of Companies.

    This is a Herculean Task that will bring pride and honor to our country.

    If you have a pot of gold, spare a little, if you have some silver coins, give a few.
    If you cannot contribute monetarily give a hand to turn a stone.

    Even if that is not possible, let us spread the message.

    That a great monument that will create history in Sri Lanka is happening in Moneragala
    Vidyasagara Pirivena Temple in the little village called Rambadagala in the Kurunegalla district.
